Huntingdon Council No. 130 held its September meeting on Thursday 24th September 2026 at Eaton Socon. With the Thrice Illustrious Master unable to attend Ill. Comp. John Clarke stepped into the Chair and conducted proceedings with calm assurance, setting the tone for a fine evening of Cryptic Masonry.

The Council having warmly welcomed the District Grand Master, R. Ill. Comp. Martin Wilson accompanied by the Deputy District Grand Director of Ceremonies, Ill. Comp. Kyle Whitbread P.G.Swd.B. there was another report and Ill. Comp. Tony Greene and Comp. Dale Gilbert entered bearing the Travelling Trowel from Northampton Council No. 99. Continuing to strengthen the bonds between Councils across the District, its arrival in Huntingdon was marked with customary good humour and fraternal spirit.

The Council was delighted to honour Comp. Barry Howard as a Royal Master, a notably meaningful moment with Comp. Howard currently serving as 2nd Provincial Grand Principal of Northants & Hunts and the Royal Master Degree being a particularly elegant point in the shared narrative of the two Orders, further strengthening their long‑established connection and marking another step in the story that ultimately finds its fulfilment in the Royal Arch.

The T.I.M. was very well supported throughout the ceremony by Comp. Dane Paul (Perambulation), V. Ill. Comp. Barrie Hall (Signs) and Ill. Comps. Rob Taylor and Kyle Whitbread (History), each delivering their respective sections with assurance and a welcome warmth of manner, all contributing to a superb ceremony that was thoroughly enjoyable to witness.

Following the completion of the agenda, the Companions retired to enjoy a relaxed and convivial Festive Board at the always excellent Masonic Rooms (Eaton Socon).

Huntingdon Council will now take the trowel to The Olney Council No. 178 on Wednesday 14th October.
